WA Christmas break: Fun in the Snow

We were planning on driving to the snow for a day to let the kids play, but the snow came to us so we just went to the school across the street and enjoyed a big open field covered in snow and a small hill for sledding.

Below: Being pulled around on a sled

isn't it cool how the light is coming through the trees?

Cameron wouldn't stop eating the snow.

And Matthew liked eating the snow too!

Cameron and Matthew thought it was fun to slide down the hill on their stomachs

Cameron had so much fun!

Nativity

The kids had fun acting out the Nativity... Matthew wasn't so cooperative with getting his picture taken.

Here are a few of the actors...

And Cameron kept changing his costume

It is always great to remember the true meaning of Christmas.

Christmas

12.25.2010

We had a fun Christmas morning. Julia (Scott's sister) got a puppy for Christmas. Everyone enjoyed playing with the puppy.

Cameron got Curious George or "Cuious Goge" as he calls it

Matthew got some Toy Story Legos

And we got to talk to Tyler (currently serving a mission in Russia) on the webcam.

What a fun relaxing Christmas!

Christmas Eve--Matching pj's

We went to Washington for Christmas and I am finally downloading my pictures... so hopefully I'll start posting about our trip :)

Christmas Eve 2010
Scott's mom made matching pajamas for all the girls and kids (and bought matching ones for the guys). I can't believe how much time it must have taken her to sew so many pajamas! Unfortunately Matthew fell asleep during the hour car ride to Mindy & Garet's house, so he was a little grumpy and not the most cooperative with pictures in the beginning.

Above: Hannah, Melissa & Julia all got tutus that matched the little girls.

No more Diapers

So I think I'm safe to say we are done with diapers... at least until around March/April. I've even stopped putting pull-ups on Cameron for naps and night time so he's in underwear "full time" now. I think Cameron does a better job telling me when he has to go to the bathroom than Matthew does (not that Matthew has accidents—he just always waits until The Last Possible Moment). Let’s hope me posting this doesn’t jinx me.

Rudolf

We enjoyed making Rudolf puppets with some friends last week. It's fun now that the kids are excited about this kind of thing.

Thanksgiving

This year we stayed home and had Thanksgiving with just the four of us. Unfortunately Cameron got sick Wednesday night and was sick all day Thursday. So pretty much I sat and held a crying/uncomfortable child while Scott and Matthew made all the food. We (Scott) cooked a turkey for the first time and it was delicious. He marinated the turkey, so it was very juicy and flavorful. All of the food was amazing. I love having a cook in the house!

Luckily Cameron was feeling better by Friday, so I was able to start the potty training process. I figured this was a good weekend since Scott would be around to give Matthew attention and I could focus on Cameron. Plus, it has been really cold (relative to here) so we pretty much stayed indoors, turned on the heater and watched a bunch of movies. Hopefully this potty training thing works out so Cameron can be out of diapers before baby #3 arrives. So far he has averaged about one accident a day, all of which have been fairly small.

Oh, and how could I forget the turkeys we made. I could barely get a picture before these got eaten…

Happy Thanksgiving!

While driving in the car...

Yesterday, while driving in the car, Matthew turned to Cameron and said, “I love you.” Immediately after Cameron looked over at Matthew and said, “I love you too.”

I love moments like this.
