day at the zoo

3.15.2013

Rebecca and I headed to the Tacoma Zoo... two adults and 8 kids under 8 (she babysits a little boy)

our attempt at a picture of the kids...

two double strollers crammed like a puzzle into the elevator... let's just say it was a bit tricky getting out

and this little boy is constantly trying to slip out of his clothes... more on that another time

I can't wait for more nice weather!

leprechaun traps

Last year I made Leprechaun traps with Matthew and Cameron. Ever since then they have been asking when it was going to be "Leprechaun's Day" so they could make traps again. This year did not disappoint as the boys had a great time making their own creations with paint and miscellaneous treasures from around the house. Luckily they got mostly finished before Brandon woke up from his nap to terrorize join in the fun.

The finished products...

Cameron decided to make a playground for the leprechauns instead of a trap. So he had me write a sign that said, "This is a play place. Not trying to catch you."

The boys were happy to find "evidence" of little visitors--although I think Matthew was a little disappointed that there were no Leprechauns waiting for him in the morning.

McLane Creek Nature Trail

2.23.2013
A few Saturdays back we checked out McLane Creek Nature Trail here in Olympia. It was a bit muddy, but the kids had a great time exploring. Brandon thought it was so fun to run away as fast as he could and only took a few spills.

Matthew's 100 day

Matthew came home from school looking like this and I just had to take a picture... somehow he got the idea to put his real glasses through his 100 day glasses. Definitely a silly kid.

This takes me back to when I was in kindergarten and collected 100 hole punches-- I was so sad when another little kid blew my display and messed up all of my hard work. Definitely learned from that one and glued each popcorn kernel down really well ha ha.
