Scott, Katelyn and I took Matthew to Marybridge Children's Hospital in Tacoma, WA on the day of his surgery.
Matthew was a bit nervous, but he loved getting a new bear
Katelyn had fun playing with Matthew before surgery
she loved the bear too (or maybe just the tag)
above: Matthew after surgery
I was a bit surprised with how happy/pleasant he was
Miriam flew in Friday night to join in on the "fun"
Grandma treated us to ice cream
Miriam and Cameron racing
Miriam was great at helping Cameron get some of his energy out :)
Matthew was feeling pretty good on Saturday (3 days after surgery)
at least enough to climb our bush/tree
Games and puzzles at the same time...
Matthew started to get worse after day 4 - complaining that his ears hurt really bad.
He didn't seem to complain too much about his actual throat, but swallowing hurt his ears so bad he didn't want to eat or drink anything. Just getting him to take his medicine was quite a challenge.
So glad my mom and Miriam could come and help out. The kids loved having all the extra attention and I definitely loved having them come as well!
And here's Matthew playing with his new toy from Grandma Crane (she was out of town helping Melissa with her new baby). It is sure great to have so much family that loves us!

Two weeks after surgery Matthew seems to be doing much better. Every once in a while Matthew will complain about his ears, but he seems to be eating everything and is back in school. He can now breath through his nose (sometimes we have to remind him) and is no longer snoring/waking up because he can't breath during the night.
