CA Trip for Miriam's HS Graduation and Daniel's Homecoming

May 28-30, 2015
I flew to California for Miriam's graduation and Daniel's mission homecoming (he'd been in Ohio for two years). I was the first to arrive of us siblings and got in late Thursday night. Each of us "surprised" Miriam and Daniel - Rebekah joined us Friday morning, Joseph Friday afternoon and Hannah late Friday night. My mom thought it would be great to have all of us there and used up her Mother's Day present for the next six years (or so she claims). It was a quick trip, but definitely worth it.

I think my dad made a record with how many times he went to and from the airport as the four of us from out of state didn't do very good job coordinating flight times.

It was very warm and sunny - I'm just glad it was in the morning or it would have been much hotter

Tuva (exchange student) and Miriam both graduated!

we all loaded up in the big van - it's so fun to all get to drive together

After the graduation we went and saw the Vietnam Vetrans Memorial Moving Wall that just so happened to be in Roseville for the weekend.

Then we went to BJ's for lunch.
Delicious! And the pizookies (not pictured) definitely did not disappoint

Then on Sunday Daniel spoke in church about his mission and some of his great experiences.

It was so fun (and different) to be without any of my kids. I'm pretty sure everyone got tired of me saying, "look! there aren't any kids" but seriously it was a nice break and very much out of my element. And no one else had any kids with them either (Miriam was the youngest). We talked and hung out without interruptions, whining, temper tantrums, diaper changes, etc. and graduation, BJ's for lunch and Sacrament meeting were all a lot less stressful ;)

I had to fly back home Sunday afternoon.
It was hard to leave, but I was excited to get back to Scott and our kids.

As always spending time with family is so fun!

Matthew's 8th birthday party

May 23, 2015
This year for Matthew's birthday, he had a spy party with his friends from school. There were a lot of codes to crack and a bomb (candy filled) to defuse.

Happy Birthday Matthew!!

10 year and Canada

May 15-16, 2015

For our 10 year anniversary Scott planned a trip for us to go to Canada for a few days. Scott's sister Mindy watched our kids for us which was really nice (10 kids ages 11 and under for two days is quite the accomplishment!)

We took an early ferry ride into Canada Friday morning

and then went to the Butchart Gardens
It is crazy how many times I thought, wow I don't have to tell anyone to not pick the flowers or run away ;)

We had some yummy food.

On Saturday we went Zip lining at Adrena LINE
It was really fun and definitely a highlight of the trip (although I got stuck because there was so much wind on the longest run and one of the tour guides had to come out to "rescue" me).

Saturday afternoon we went to China Town and got some yummy Chinese food.
Then we had to head back on the afternoon ferry.
Oh, and in the two days we were there I think we went to five or six different stores trying to find Big Turks (Turkish Delight) to bring back.

It was so great to have a little get-away with Scott!
