Weekend fun in Fairfield

We spent the weekend in Fairfield with my family. Saturday morning we hiked around Rockville Park. It was pretty cold, but at least it didn't rain on us.

I don't know if you can tell, but Matthew is freezing--it is not often he allows the hood to stay on :)

On the way home we stopped at a yard/junk sale just to look around. Above: Miram and Matthew in front of a huge chicken--I have no idea who would want such a huge chicken.

Above: Matthew coloring with chalk--he loves sidewalk chalk!

Yummy Food!

Matthew loves to help Scott cook in the kitchen. He always has to move his chair to be right next to Scott so that he can see exactly what he is doing. We try to teach him that the stove is hot, but I am still afraid one of these days he is going to reach over before we can stop him. He loves to help out with little tasks. Whenever we are chopping vegetables, we will have him move the pieces from the cutting board to the bowl/pot—again another thing to worry about—his little fingers. He also loves to “dump” anything we measure out. He gets all excited and says “dump it” until you let him. He loves wearing his little apron and will sometimes get it out for me to put on him during the day (even when we aren’t cooking). He is such a cute kid!

Cameron had his six month appointment this week, here are his stats:
weight: 16 pounds
height: 26 ½ inches
head circumference: 43.5 cm

We have recently started feeding him rice cereal. He seems to do pretty well, but I think he just loves sitting at the table with the rest of us. He is still a really smiley baby and loves all the attention he gets.

Matthew is talking so much more now. We wanted to make a little video to share some of his words with you. Hope you enjoy!
