zoo trip

8.29.2014

Summer was nearing the end and Scott had a Friday off work, so we headed to the zoo. Sometimes I forget we have four kids. Not that I forget about any one child, but just when you add them all up - there are now four little peoples I/we are in charge of. I'm so glad Scott was able to join us because I love his company and because Matthew tends to wander (a lot) and Katelyn has to eat occasionally.

I just realized this is our first "family photo" since Katelyn has been born. I guess we have been so busy doing fun things with our extended family we haven't done a whole lot with just us (and if we have, I'm usually the one taking the pictures).  Here's a family photo thanks to a timer and the stroller (acting as a tripod).

fun times!

sprinklers, cousin time and hanging out at grandma's house

while family was in town the cousins had a blast playing together at Grandma's house... here are a few pictures from the fun times...

So glad Melissa & Sam, Dallin, Paola & Zoey and Tyler came to visit!

Leavenworth trip - petting farm

On the way back from the Apples and Cotlets Factory we decided to stop at a petting farm. The kids enjoyed feeding and petting the animals and Garet got a special surprise when one of the llamas spit at him.

Leavenworth trip - Aplets and Cotlets Factory

While staying at the lodge in Leavenworth we drove to Cashmere to the Aplets and Cotlets Factory for a free tour.

we all had to wear lovely hair nets

Leavenworth Lodge

While Melissa & Sam and Paola & Zoe were visiting we rented out a lodge in Leavenworth, WA. Scott's brothers Dallin and Tyler met us there and so 6 out of 7 of Scott's siblings (and their spouses and kids) along with Scott's parents were there (Hannah had to stay back in Utah for Hygeine board exams - sorry Hannah). It was great to have plenty of room to spread out inside and enjoy the outdoors too.

Tyler was having fun throwing huge sticks (and pretending to pole vault)
and had some little copy-cats.

Unfortunately the bees were a bit out of control - Brandon got a bee sting on his head and wrist and Tyler got one on his ankle while "rescuing" Brandon. Later during the trip Gracie got one stuck in her shirt and got about five stings.

Here's Scott consoling Brandon after his traumatic experience...

we put baking soda on Brandon's sting to see if it would help with the pain...

While we were there Emma turned nine
