Back Yard Tree House

We have a section of our backyard that is covered in trees and the kids would sometimes play over there, but it was mostly dirt, sticks and pine needles. Scott and I had the thought of making some sort of tree house/club house/fort for that area of the yard. We even had a tree house builder come out to our yard and talk through some options. He didn't really get our vision and how we wanted to really utilize the whole area so we went to work constructing our own plans. With the help of Scott's dad's experience with decking and building we were able to work all summer long and came up with something the kids are going to really enjoy in the years to come.

The section of our yard hidden in the trees where we thought would be perfect...

The decking all done!

Scott created a custom door...

And the view from our house...
all tucked away in the trees!

We added a short zipline to the outside, and decorated the interior with some carpet, a few swinging pod chairs, hanging lights, bean bag chairs a bench and table.
