My parents invited us to their place for Thanksgiving this year--to make this possible, my dad flew up to help me and the boys drive down because Scott couldn't get that much time off work. So early Friday morning (Nov. 16th) I packed up the van and headed down with the boys to the Portland airport. We picked up my dad at about 7:30am and continued our 11ish hour drive to Granite Bay, CA. We only made one stop for gas/lunch. My dad thought Taco Bell sounded fun--I think it has been a while since he has eaten tacos with kids... lets just say it was a memory I don't think he or I will forget :)
Playing in the yard...
Cameron loved the "sinking mud" as he called it.
Caught in the action... good thing my parents have tons of tomatoes...
Making turkeys.
Thanks Aunt Michelle!
On Monday we went to the California State Railroad Museum
On Tuesday we were able to meet up with Kristine and her kids (now living 20 min. from my parents). Crazy to think how much our kids have grown since living in San Francisco while our husbands attended dental school. Brandon and Ella were just babies...
Thanks Kristine for the fun morning!

Brandon has found a new love for "talking" on the phone.
He got so excited every time he heard Scott's voice...
here he is talking to Scott on the phone before his flight to CA on Tuesday evening
yes, that is my phone--don't make fun :)

Growing up in the Bay Area we always loved going to the Berkeley Adventure Playground. Now that my parents have a little property they thought it would be fun to make their own Adventure Playground in their yard. So here it is in the works...

We got to do a scavenger hunt around my parent's yard...
On the edge of my parent's property is a creek... the kids had fun exploring...

What great pictures! I'm glad you got to go spend a whole week with your family. Nothing like being with loved ones for the holidays. And the weather down there looked super nice!
Always fun to see your pictures! Your boys are so cute and Brandon is so grownup now! Happy holidays, Sarah!
Sarah, it's so fun to look at these pictures and see your little family. It's been a while since I've seen you and you look amazing! I love the Berkley adventure park bit. That's awesome.
