My mom turned 50 this week and my dad had the great idea of throwing her a surprise party. We drove to Granite Bay for the weekend and it was my job to get my mom out of the house since the party was a BBQ in my parent’s yard. We came up with the idea of a “photo shoot” so Saturday late afternoon we headed to a local park. We needed to be gone about an hour so my dad had time to set up/give time for people to arrive. Normally, that would have been no problem, but as soon as we got to the park the boys ran away, fell in the muddy grass and were not cooperating at all. So after about 10 minutes I was done and still had almost an hour to “stall.” To make matters worse there was a group at the playground portion that had hid Easter eggs that my boys wouldn’t leave alone. Somehow we were able to stay at the park long enough and it all worked out.
A few pictures from the park:
After taking pictures at the park, we drove back to my parent's house. When we turned onto their street, this is what we saw:
My mom was definitely surprised!
About a half hour into the party a car pulled up honking and making a lot of noise… it was my grandma, aunts and sisters all the way from UTAH!
We all had a great time.

What a fun surprise!!! Sounds like you had a great weekend :)
So awesome!!
Happy Birthday :-) I've got a few siblings older lol..
I love the photo of your Mom and all 3 of your boys together and your sister picture. My Mom and her sisters made it a tradition that whenever they all got together no matter where, they'd get a sister picture taken. They still try to even though my Mom has been gone for almost 14 years. Today is my Mom's Birthday she would have been 72
what a GREAT surprise! i would love to do this sometime for my mom!
